Using MPlayer to play CCTV video and audio

This is how you use MPlayer to play separate recorded CCTV media streams individually or together.

Play noisy night video with pretty good temporal smoothing:

  • mplayer -vf denoise3d=0:0:100:0 myvideo.m4v

Play supposedly 10 fps video at a correct playback speed:

  • mplayer -fps 7 myvideo.m4v

Play raw u-law audio:

  • mplayer -rawaudio format=0x0007:channels=1:rate=8000 -demuxer rawaudio myaudio.ul

And now it all together! Play smoothed video at a slower rate along with a normal speed raw audio from external file (also add 16 MB cache and allow to drop frames if needed):

  • mplayer -fps 7 -vf denoise3d=0:0:100:0 -cache 16000 -framedrop¬† myvideo.m4v -audiofile myaudio.ul -audio-demuxer rawaudio -rawaudio format=0x0007:channels=1:rate=8000

Notes:
Tested with audio and video streams recorded by openRTSP from TL-SC4171G and TL-SC3171 IP cameras.
