Reduce JPEG file size

You can very easily considerably reduce JPEG file size by recompressing the picture. In theory you suffer some quality loss, but in practice, if the original file has been high resolution picture, the image changes may be totally invisible, while the file size can drop even by several times.

If you have the Image Magick installed, just go to your picture directory and type:

mogrify -quality 75 *.jpg

The pictures will be saved with 75% quality, with quality drop practically unnoticeable, providing huge gain in disk space economy.
